Lodgify cleaning schedule: tasks, iCal and WhatsApp

Lodgify runs your website, bookings and channels. A Lodgify cleaning schedule is the next question: who cleans after each checkout, when, and how do you know it's done? Lodgify has its own answer for some teams. For others, especially teams whose cleaners work from WhatsApp, a separate tool fits better.

This guide covers both, then shows how to connect Lodgify to Readyby. Readyby has no direct Lodgify integration and no partnership with Lodgify. It reads the iCal export link Lodgify provides for each rental. Direct connections to channel managers are planned; today, iCal is the way in.

What Lodgify already does for cleaning

Lodgify has a Task Management feature. You add cleaners as users, assign them to rentals, and set up tasks that are scheduled automatically from bookings, such as a cleaning after checkout. Cleaners see their tasks in the Lodgify app with their own login. Lodgify's site lists task management on its Ultimate plan, so check what yours includes. Lodgify also lists cleaning integrations such as Turno, ResortCleaning and TIDY.

If your cleaners are happy to use the Lodgify app and you're on a plan that includes tasks, start there.

When Readyby is the better fit

Readyby is for the situations where an app login is the problem:

  • No app for cleaners. They get WhatsApp messages and open a web checklist from a link on any phone.
  • Their own language. An AI coordinator writes to each cleaner in her language and translates her replies back for you.
  • Confirmations and changes. The coordinator sends the plan, asks for confirmation, reminds, and tells the cleaner when a checkout moves.
  • Photo reports for owners. Checklist photos and incidents go into a report for each property owner.
  • Exports. Monthly CSV with cleanings per client and hours and pay per cleaner.

Lodgify keeps iCal connections in its calendar import/export settings. Look in Settings for the calendar import/export (or calendar sync) section, find the rental under "export", and copy the link. It should end in .ics. Do this for each rental. Menu names have changed over time, so if the path differs, search Lodgify's help centre for "export iCal".

Keep the link private. Anyone who has it can see your booked dates.

Setting up the Lodgify cleaning schedule in Readyby

  1. Paste one link per rental. Readyby checks each link every few minutes. How quickly a change shows up also depends on when Lodgify updates its feed.
  2. Use only the Lodgify link. If Lodgify already collects your Airbnb and Booking.com bookings, its export covers them. Adding each channel's link too isn't needed. Readyby won't create a second cleaning for the same stay, but a single source is easier to check.
  3. Set times and duration. iCal often carries dates without times. Readyby uses times from the feed when present and otherwise the default check-out and check-in times you set per apartment. Add the cleaning duration so short turnovers are flagged.
  4. Add cleaners. Name, WhatsApp number, language. Each cleaner confirms in WhatsApp before she gets plans.
  5. Check the first week of cleanings before switching on automatic sending.

If you move cleanings to Readyby, switch off Lodgify's automatic cleaning tasks for the same rentals. Two systems sending cleaning instructions will confuse everyone.

What iCal can't carry

iCal shows when a rental is booked. It usually doesn't include guest counts, bed setups or notes, and sometimes no times. Readyby stores only dates, guest count and booking source anyway, never names or contact details. For linen planning, set a default guest count per apartment and adjust by hand when needed.

iCal is also one-way: Readyby reads Lodgify's calendar but doesn't write cleaning status back into Lodgify.

Languages and channels today

Readyby's coordinator works on WhatsApp. Cleaners can use it in Ukrainian, Polish, Russian or English now, with more languages coming. Viber and SMS are not available yet. Details are in the FAQ.
